People not only understand the everyday, normal use of the word topless? In common, vulgar topless Everday is often used to refer to her breasts exposed, as in the example that Madonna was topless in Playboy last month or the script called for a topless scene, so the actress pulled back. Yet when I pointed out that Miley was NOT Cryrus topless Vanity Fair, because her breasts werent exposed, people acted like this was a strange new definition of the word! They argue that because (allegedly) wasn't wearing a shirt, she was topless, but only the bare skin exposed was back ... I believe that this use of topless is ridiculous, because the literal meaning of topless and with no top, doesn't mean that the word is used in this way in everyday language! That, reading that Miley was topless in Vanity Fair, would not assume that her breasts were exposed for?
