Do people not only to understand everyday life, the ordinary use of the word topless? In common vernacular daily topless often used to signify topless, as in the example of Madonna was topless in Playboy last month or the script called for a topless scene, so the actress retired. However, when I said that was NOT Cryrus Miley topless in Vanity Fair because they werent exposed her breasts, people acted like it was a strange new definition of the word! They argue that, because (apparently) wasn't wearing a shirt, who was topless, but the only bare skin exposed was her back ... I think this use of topless is ridiculous, because the literal meaning of topless is not half higher than the word can not be used that way in everyday language! Who's reading was Miley topless in Vanity Fair, wouldnt assume that they were destined breasts exposed?
